Biography
The legendary British band The Human League was formed in a middle of the seventies in Sheffield. At the waterhead were Ian Marsh and Martyn Ware, inspired by new features of the musical industry. Their first works included elements of glam-rock, pop music and even avant-garde electronic. There is no doubt that such kind of cocktail managed to attract music lovers’ attention to the young band’s creativity. During the career, the group’s line-up changed, which predetermined changes in the sound. However it always remained interesting and extremely distinctive, so The Human League got their well-deserved status of new wave classics.
The musicians’ debut studio work titled Reproduction was released in 1979. Their first work failed to appear in charts, so the band had to cancel their tour in December of that year. However they decided not to give a way to despair and they issued the second studio attempt titled Travelogue in 1980. It managed to peak at the sixteenth line of the Great Britain chart and became The Human League’s first serious success. Thus, the band had a loud start of their career and found faithful fans, who truly enjoyed the original sound. The Human League’s discography was enlarged by a strong studio attempt Dare! in 1981. That record got fair reviews from the critics, which was not a surprise: the musicians presented a great mix of various genres and styles, but all in all, in spite of such kind of diversity, the album proved to be very solid.
The eighties became a successful period of creativity for The Human League: one of their compositions, Being Boiled, peaked at the very top of the chart, the band’s albums were incredibly popular, while the number of fans was increasing. Those were the nineties when the group released such significant long plays as Love And Dancing (1982), Hysteria (1984) and Crash (1986). But one should not think that in nineties The Human League slowed down. The studio attempt titled Romantic? that presented a hit song Heart Like A Wheel to the listeners was issued in 1991. Five years later the long play Octopus (1995) appeared, which was recorded by The Human League as a trio. The musicians proved that they had a great number of fresh ideas, and that this line-up was able to create extremely strong works.

The musical experts acclaimed Secrets, which pleased listeners not only by the classical songs, but also by incredibly interesting instrumentals. The release of The Human League’s ninth studio long play titled Credo took place in 2011. That record turned out to be the band’s first album in ten years, so the music lovers put great hopes on it. The Human League completely satisfied listeners’ expectations: there is absolutely no doubt that Credo will be enjoyed by the group’s old fans and by those who are just going to get acquainted with the legendary The Human League’s creativity.
